sorry to hear that....well having cancer depending on the type will not affect your unborn child, but treatment will... you need to speak with a doc and see what options you have vs. treatment effective time.... you may have to wait untill after the baby is born to start any treatment.... Good Luck! Congrats on the baby

Im sorry to hear the bad news. I would think that it depends on how bad the cancer is. Maybe they can wait until after you deliver the to treat the cancer. Just think positive and dont dstress out because that could definelty hurt the baby. Good Luck

my guess is that it would have a negative effect on the baby, but don't base your actions on my speculations, you should just go talk to a doctor about treatments that wont affect a baby, I'm almost sure that chemo would be harmful, because basically chemo gets as close to killing you as possible, and the baby might be harmed, but there are lots of other treatments out there

I have an idea about how you feel I found a bump around my breast a couple of weeks ago but didn't tell my husband until yesterday I am having a c-section on friday dec 15th 2006 so I have decided that I am going to wait until the baby is born before I even tell my doctor about it because I don't want anything to happen to my baby. How far along are you. This will help you decide to seek treatment before or after the baby is born. Cancer treatments are not in the best interest of the baby but sometimes they are more in the best interest of the mother. I hope everything turns out ok for you Good Luck

Hi, i am so sorry to hear your sad news. I would go and see your doc and find out how bad the cancer is, maybe treatment can wait until after baby's born? I would think that cancer treatment will pass to the baby through your blood. Depending on the type of treatment you have. My friend has breast cancer and they have hit her hard with cemo. I really don't know, I hope everything works out well for you and your baby xx

I am so sorry, that's very very sad. As for your question, anything that goes into your body is also going into the baby, but don't fret, your doctor will make sure that the treatment you receive will both benefit you and have the least harmful affects on your child. There are many people that have had cancer as well as gave birth during treatment and both mother and baby have been fine. Just make sure to discuss everything with your doctor and a good doctor will find the best measures to take for both of you. Good luck and don't stress!!

The doctor would have to diagnose the cancer, so why didn't you ask him then? Cancer treatment can have extreme effects on the baby, worse than drinking or smoking. The radiation alone could kill it. Sorry to hear the news.
